In addition, since our inception, Evolution Yoga's aim is to raise the level of consciousness and care in all aspects of the community beyond our walls and to provide programs and opportunities for people to experience positive evolution and healing. We believe that service is a vital part of living consciously.
Business as Social Resonsibility
- Scholarship program: Offers full or partial scholarships for classes, workshops/events, As of March of 2010 we’ve given away $4000+ in FREE classes to scholarship recipients. We are honored to accept donations for yoga scholarships—given to those students that could use help in deferring the cost of classes or workshops. If you would like to make a donation to our scholarship fund, please contact us.
- Fundraising: We raise money for a variety of local, national and international charities. We just wrapped up our 6th annual summer of “Yoga in the Garden” outdoor yoga class fundraisers, which take place every Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day at The Gathering Place. Our teachers and staff generously donate their time and talents for these events and collectively, we have raised thousands of dollars for The Gathering Place since we began these events in 2004. The Gathering Place is a caring community that supports, educates and empowers individuals and families touched by cancer through programs and services provided free of change. Mark your calendars for the three holidays above in 2009 and plan to come out and support our efforts for those touched by cancer.
- Karma Yoga program: Karma yoga is technically defined as yoga of action. It is time and energy you donate to Evolution Yoga in exchange for free yoga classes and other benefits. Let us know a bit about you, your skills and availability for work at the studio. The most common karma yoga position we need is Front Desk Reception/Retail. Please let us know if you have an interest and availability to work a 5-6 hour desk shift in exchange for unlimited yoga at the studio. Other jobs include cleaning, handy wo/man jobs, marketing/event outreach, etc. Download application.
We are also looking for someone outgoing and inspired to work in the community and spread the healing gifts that Evolution Yoga’s programs have to offer. Please contact us to discuss becoming involved with these programs.
